ASM20 Practical Exam

1. a) Which project did you enjoy the most this semester? (1 mark)
The project I enjoyed the most this semester was the culminating task, where we got to create our own cereal box, logo, and slogan.
    b) What two things did you like about it? (2 marks)
The two things I enjoyed the most about the culminating task, was creating the logo and getting to use my own ideas to create something I found interesting, and getting to make our own flavors for the cereal.
          2. a) Which project did you struggle with the most? (1 mark)
The project I struggled with the most was creating our own robots.

    b) What two things were most difficult about it? (2 marks)
Two things that were difficult about creating our own robots was coming up with something creative and unique, and learning how to use all the proper tools to get the outcome that I wanted.
3. Name a skill you learned in media arts this semester and how you could use it in

    a) Next school year:  (2 marks)
How to properly use a camera: I'm taking photography next year and during media arts I was taught almost everything to know about using a camera which will be very helpful when I start photography class.
     b) A future career: (2 marks)
creating and using a blog: If I ever have a career where I need to be able to make my own blogs I'll be able to do so now that I've taken media arts and learned the basics of using a blog, and creating my own posts.

4. Choose one project that you didn’t do too well on. Write three things you could do to improve it. (3 marks)
One project that I didn't do too well on would be the PSA video. A few things I could do to improve it would be taking more time to plan how the video would be shot and which angles I would use in certain scenes. Another thing I could do to improve it would be creating a short dialogue so the everyone knew what to say and the actions that would be appropriate to do at the time. The last thing I would do to improve the PSA video is making sure the camera is always still and focusing on the right things and making sure the lighting is good where we are shooting our video.

5. Write about your experience working in a group.
    a) What role did you play? Were you a leader, listener, creative director, technical expert, props manager? Were you the one that was always present in class and doing work outside of class? Were you the one that had difficult contributing? Write at least three points about how you worked in your groups. If you did not work in a group, write about why you did not and three points about why you chose to work alone. (3 marks)
My experience working in a group wasn't so good. I was always the leader of the group, and the one making up all the things we would do. I was the only one who did work outside of class to make sure we would get the mark we wanted, and to make sure everything was uploaded in time so we could get a mark. I also feel like working a lone would've been a lot better, or just working with new people.

    b) What was positive about the experience (group or alone)? (2 marks)
There were a few positives about working in a group. We got to make new memories that we'll remember when looking back on high school, and it was always fun creating something that the group would find funny when really it was horrible, but we found it very amusing.

    c) What was negative about the experience (group or alone)? (2 marks)
The negative things about working with a group was always being the one who put the most effort in and having to do a majority of the work for people who didn't seem to appreciate it but they liked getting the grade without having to do any work.
6. Reflect on your time management in this course.
    a) If you had to give yourself a mark out of "10", what would that mark be, if 10/10 was using each minute of each class to the fullest and not wasting time? (2 marks)
If i were to give myself a mark on time management in this class it would be a 7/10. When working by myself i didn't tend to waste as much time compared to being in a group. If I were to mark myself out of ten for time management in a group it would be around 5/10.
b) What strategies will you employ in the future to maximize your efficiency in getting assignments completed on time? (3 marks)
In the future I will make sure I start an assignment as soon as I get it, and I'll try my best not to waste a lot of time on things that aren't contributing to the assignment.I'll also make sure to pick the right people to be around when working on an assignment, and make sure they wont be a distraction or impact badly when doing an assignment.
